The National Hockey League and the Buffalo Sabres are in charge of the game schedule, which is subject to change without notice. The Game will be available for play prior to December 18, 2009, however points awarded prior to that day will not go towards the Game points and the prizes.

5. How to Enter: To enter, visit sabres.nhl.com, and click on the appropriate links to the "Buffalo Sabres Power Lineup" website to complete the online registration process. All fields must be completed with valid information to complete the registration and include your first and last name, date of birth, a current and valid email address. You will be required to create a password and team name, which you will use for future login and game play. You may enter/register for the Game at any time during the Game Period, and you will be eligible for points for each game that occurs after your successful enrollment and selection of team lineups.

6. How to Play: Buffalo Sabres Power Lineup is an internet game that translates actual NHL team plus/minus statistics into online game play. Registered participants create weekly lineups and are randomly matched up against other participants in a battle for the most points.

Selecting Players: Choose five (5) Buffalo Sabres players for your Power Lineup team from the Buffalo Sabres eligible roster, three (3) from the offensive line and two (2) from the defensive line. You cannot exceed 5 players and there are no goalies.

In addition to the 5 players that you select, the Game will randomly select a player to be your Power Player giving you a total of 6 players. These Power Players are randomly selected two hours before the Buffalo Sabres game starts after your team has been locked down. No Power Player will be assigned if they are already on your team or if they are on the team that you are matched up against.

In the event you have a player selected in your lineup and they become inactive (injury, trade, etc) you will be responsible to update your lineup before the next game. If you choose an inactive player, you will receive zero (0) plus/minus points for that player’s position for each game that they are included in your lineup. If the assigned Power Player becomes inactive, or is benched for a game, then you will receive zero (0) plus/minus points for that player for that game.

Changing Players:

You can update your Power Lineup team at any time after a previous Buffalo Sabres game and up to two hours before the next Buffalo Sabres game is played. Two hours prior to every Buffalo Sabres game all Participant teams will be locked down until the end of the Buffalo Sabres game and the option to change your team roster will not be available.

You may change your team of five (5) players each day, but at a minimum you must login and ACTIVATE your team every seven days. Weekly changes are based on your login activity not a set calendar date or time. If you do not login and ACTIVATE your team every 7 days (6 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes), the Game will randomly assign you players for your team during the next eligible update period. If you login after this time you are able to change your players and ACTIVATE a new team during the eligible update period.

No Buffalo Sabres player can be included in your Power Lineup for more than THIRTY (30) games in the Game Period. If you have not changed a player that you have used 30 times, the Game will automatically select a new player for your team and remove the ineligible player from your lineup. Team players that are automatically selected will be chosen from the Buffalo Sabres roster based on highest number of games left in the Power Lineup game and then alphabetical by last name. Power Players chosen by the Game do not count towards the 30 game count.

Scoring Points

Points are awarded at the end of each Buffalo Sabres game. Points are determined by the actual plus/minus points a Buffalo Sabres player receives in each Buffalo Sabres regulation season game. The plus/minus statistics are calculated by whether or not a goal is scored for or against the team when a player is on the ice. When an even-strength or shorthanded goal is scored, every player on the ice for the team scoring the goal is credited with a plus. Every player on the ice for the team scored against gets a minus. A player's overall total is calculated by subtracting the minuses from the pluses. Note: Power play goals ARE NOT used in calculating plus/minus points. Shorthanded goals ARE used in calculating plus/minus points. Penalty shots ARE NOT used in calculating plus/minus points. Points are determined by the NHL and are final. Occasionally the NHL may modify plus/minus statistics based on post-game review. In this case, Power Lineup standings may be affected. Any adjustments by the NHL will be reflected in the Game as they are received.

If a Buffalo Sabres player receives +1 points in a game and he is on your team roster for that game, then you receive +1 point for your Power Lineup team, and if a Buffalo Sabres player receives -1 points in a game, and he is on your team roster for that game, then you receive -1 points for your Power Lineup team. You will receive any and all points for the five (5) players on your roster for each game and the randomly chosen Power Player. If you and your match-up opponent end in a tie based on the total points from your current lineup plus the randomly chosen Power Player then the match-up will end in a tie. The number of plus/minus points received for each Buffalo Sabres player can be viewed after each game and for the year at http://sabres.nhl.com/club/stats.htm.

Winner Determination

You will be randomly matched against other participants during each Buffalo Sabres regular season game in an effort to earn Power Lineup Points. An hour after the completion of each Buffalo Sabres game, the Game will randomly generate match-ups. Participants will be able to view who they are matched up against at that time. If there are not equal numbers of teams to compete against each other, the Game will randomly create a team to be matched up against a non-matched team to ensure equal play. The team generated by the Game will not be included in the overall standings. Participants will be awarded a win if their five (5) players and the randomly chosen Power Player’s plus/minus point total is greater than their opponent’s. The winning team will receive two (2) power play points, and the losing team will receive zero (0) power player points. In the event of a tie between two Power Lineup teams, one (1) power player point will be awarded to each team.

7. Prize Award: The three Participants who have the highest Power Lineup point totals at the end of the Game Period will be awarded First, Second and Third Prizes respectively, to be named during the season by the Buffalo Sabres. If Participants are tied, the total number of plus/minus points will determine final ranking. In the event that there still remains a tie for the First, Second and Third Prizes, the winners will be determined by a random drawing of all tied teams.

Additionally, Buffalo Sabres has the right to add monthly prizes based upon most Power Lineup points achieved during the month. Monthly time periods will be set by Buffalo Sabres. The Participant that receives the highest point total during the specific periods will be the potential winner for those periods. If Participants are tied, the total number of plus/minus points will determine final ranking. In the event that there still remains a tie for the monthly prizes, the winner will be determined by a random drawing of all tied teams. Participants are eligible to be winners of any and all periods. The Buffalo Sabres reserves the right to hold additional prize contests based on other or additional criteria. These and all prize information will be available on the prizes page of the Power Lineup website.

8. Limit: Each Participant may create one (1) team during the Game Period. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any Participant to obtain more than one (1) team by using multiple/different email addresses, identities or any other method will void that Participant’s team and he/she will be disqualified from further participation in the Game. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Buffalo Sabres and Administrator are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected teams, which will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any team, the authorized account holder of the email address used to participate will be deemed to be the Participant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address.

9. Participant Notifications: Participants will be required to select a preferred method of communication to receive notifications regarding the Game from the Buffalo Sabres. You will have the option of selecting email or text messaging notification, as well as receive Facebook notification updates if selected. Participants are required to receive Power Lineup Game communication to participate in the game, and may opt in for additional team communication. If the Participant chooses texting as his/her preferred method of communication, any text messaging charges incurred from the mobile communications provider are the Participant’s responsibility, and are not the responsibility of the Buffalo Sabres.

10. Winner Requirements: Potential winners will be notified by email, text, mail or phone within 48 hours of prize time period. For prizes with a value of $1,000 or higher the potential Prize winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor) will be required to execute and return to Buffalo Sabres, within ten (10) days of the date notice, or attempted notice is sent, an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability & Publicity Release ("Affidavit") in order to claim his/her prize. If the potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to execute and return the Affidavit within the required time period, or the prize is returned as undeliverable, the prize is deemed forefeited. At the discretion of the Buffalo Sabres, if a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, an alternate winner will be determined based on the Participant’s Point totals. Only three (3) alternate winners will be determined, after which the applicable prize will remain un-awarded. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute and signify winner's agreement and consent that Buffalo Sabres may use the winner's name, city, state, likeness, Entry and/or prize information in connection with the Game, worldwide, including the Internet, without limitation and without further payment or consideration, except where prohibited by law.

11. Prizes: Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made unless Buffalo Sabres, in its sole discretion, determines otherwise. Buffalo Sabres reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value should it become unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use.

12. Release: By receipt of any prize, each winner agrees to release and hold harmless Buffalo Sabres, NHL, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, game developers/creators, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company's officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Game or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

13. General Conditions: Buffalo Sabres reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Game, or any part of it, and at any time, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Buffalo Sabres's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Game, as determined by Buffalo Sabres in its sole discretion. Buffalo Sabres, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Game or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Game may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Buffalo Sabres reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Buffalo Sabres's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

14. Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Game; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Game; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Game or the processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail or email or texts; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Game or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Buffalo Sabres is not responsible for misdirected or undeliverable entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, undecipherable or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. Buffalo Sabres and Administrator are not responsible for any typographical/other error in entries, selection announcement or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with this Game.

15.
